On the Fly…..

Back for a Day

Mom and I got back from our weekend jaunt around the Olympic coast yesterday. Today is laundry day and a dinner with a friend who is in town then we head back out onto the road tomorrow with Yellowstone National Park as our destination.

The Olympics were nice, but the photos were so-so. Weather was either entirely overcast or completely clear skies…. not the best for big ‘ol landscape photos. First day at the beach was totally overcast, so no sunset at all. Second day was clear and bright, so we went into the woods to the Hoh Rainforest. Pretty place, but hard to capture even with a tripod. Ended Saturday on the beach again with a decent sunset, but with very few clouds, so nothing amazing. Sunday we visited a few more of the beaches which had more interesting sea stack formations, then headed up north to the Sol Duc Hot Springs were we took a soak or two in the natural hot springs. Monday we woke late and had a leisurely drive and ferry ride back home.

Will have photos posted soon. Love the new lens, but hope to really give it a workout in Yellowstone.
