On the Fly…..

Catching Up – Seattle SeaFair Photos

September 1, 2008 · Leave a Comment

Things are picking up at work, so I haven’t had much time for posting frequently.  Plus, there haven’t been that much to talk about.

I am spending this holiday weekend catching up on my photo work.  I finally got my photos from the Seattle SeaFair weekend posted.  I volunteer in the Air Operations side for SeaFair, which basically means helping with the airshow and pilots.  Last year, I worked at the local airport where all the airplanes, pilots, and crews were stationed. It was fun as I got to walk right up to some pretty cool aircraft and meet several of the airshow pilots.

This year, I again worked at the airport for two days, but also took an extra day off work to work out on the lake where the airshow takes place.  I was sent out to a large barge on the logboom in the middle of Lake Washington where my job was to work with the boating folks to clear the flight path/performance area for the US Navy’s Blue Angels.  I really enjoyed it out on the barge as the boating folks were fun to work with and it had by far one of the best views of the Blue Angels performance.  I was about as close to the Blue Angels flying by than anyone.

And yes, I took my camera.  You can find all my SeaFair photos at my Smugmug Site
